Come and join us for the upcoming season of Advent in 2018. While the world has already moved on to Christmas right after Halloween. We, in the Church have this important time of Advent in order to prepare for the celebration of Christmas. The word, "advent" simply means "arrival." During this season, we wait for the arrival of Christmas. But more importantly, we look at how the Lord's people waited for the arrival of the Messiah through all of the Old Testament prophecies. And we also see how we still await the arrival of our Lord who is coming on the Last Day. As is the tradition in many churches, we will offer special midweek services for this season as we wait for the Lord.

Our theme this year will be on the Incarnation. This word simply means being made flesh. That is just what our Lord did as he was born of Mary. In doing so, Jesus took on our humanity to redeem all of who we are as God's creatures. We will explore the ways how the "Word made flesh" (John 1:14) in Jesus helps us to see the harmonious and concrete ways that God works for us in the Word and Sacraments and how God works through us in our vocations or callings in life. The format for our midweek services will be more informal and include elements for the whole family.

Schedule:
Each Wednesday, Potluck Suppers will take place @ 6:00 pm and Services @ 7:00 pm.

Dec. 5 | God with Us in Jesus, Our Immanuel

Dec. 12 | God for Us in Word and Sacrament

Dec. 19 | God through Us in Our Daily Vocations
