Third Sunday after the Epiphany

As Jesus rolled up the scroll and the town of Nazareth fixed their eyes on Him, they could not get over what they were seeing. The Jesus that they thought they knew was now saying that all Scripture was being fulfilled in Him. Jesus cannot be confined by mere human expectations. Jesus is who He says that He is. So we are called to listen to His words. He is the Son of God who came to rescue sinners and bring the Lord’s favor to us. In Him, we get the whole Jesus that exceeds our human expectations and delivers the promises of God to us.
