CLICK HERE TO DONATERunning 19 miles of social "distancing" for families affected by COVID-19 by supporting food bank services The food bank of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lindenwood, IL has served the community for 10 years. I have seen how our volunteers have stepped up to keep the food bank open as an essential service. They have followed all the proper protocols for the safety of both patrons and volunteers. But our food bank, as well as many others, are now facing challenges due to the pandemic and could use some help in order to keep operating at full capacity. I would like to do what I can to raise awareness of ways that you can help families that will be impacted by this pandemic for months and years to come. I would like to see this expand to other food banks in the area beyond ours at Immanuel. First $1000 to Immanuel's Food Bank. Anything beyond that will go to other food banks in the area. The Plan: I plan to run 19 solo miles on country roads along the way from Oregon, IL (where I live) to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lindenwood, IL (where I am the pastor). I'll even have a live track so that you can follow my progress with some photos and maybe even video updates along the way. Get updates and follow along on Immanuel's Facebook Page. The Route: Click here for the planned route starting at the courthouse in Oregon. The Date: May 3, 2020 @ 1pm (If weather is an issue, I will reschedule) The Why: "In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins" (1 John 4:19-10). Simply put, we love because he first loved us! Thank you for your support! ~Pastor NOTE ON DONATION: You are not required to pay GoFundMe the optional 15% tip for their service.
